Ripping the paper...definitely one of his favorite activities!
Troy's new dump truck- he plays for hours on this toy!

Troy's 9 month birthday
It is hard to believe that today is Troy's 9 month birthday. This time equals the time that he was carried by me, but time sure goes by more quickly now that he is out in the world. He fills our world with joy and life. No matter how tough my day at work has been, when I pick him up in the afternoon, nothing really seems to matter except our valuable time as a family. I am an unlikely sappy mother, but I cannot help myself! I love my family!

Weekend at Disneyland
Tom and I decided it would be fun to go to the Disneyland Hotel for the weekend. We had the best time on Friday evening because it was totally empty! Oma and Papa came to spend part of the day with us. Sadly, as Saturday went on, the fires started to affect the day. The third picture shows how awful it was. Thankfully, my parents' house in Yorba Linda was fine, although they were packed and ready to evacuate. So, we had a wonderful time, but it was certainly an interesting weekend!

Fight On!
Troy, our Trojan boy, attended his first USC football game. We had the best time, and Troy just took it all in. He really seemed to enjoy the crushing defeat over Washington. It rained the whole walk to the Coliseum, but he seemed as content as can be. What a special day it was for our little family!
Troy's First Halloween
Here is our little monkey! Troy celebrated his first Halloween with his family there to witness it! His cousins, Joe and Sarah, are out from Colorado with their mom, Kristie, and we all went with him to his first few houses. Oma, Papa, Uncle Bob and Aunt Alison were also on hand to celebrate! It was a great night!

Labor Day!
Our Labor Day Weekend started at the pool. This is Troy "kickin' it" after swimming.
Troy celebrated his first USC football game outside of the womb.
On Sunday, we had dinner with my parents at their motorhome in the Newport Dunes. My parents bought him a BMW saying that Troy would have one before we did. Anyone notice which bags are in the background????
Ahhh, Dad and Son...what is cuter than this?

TROY (finally) ROLLED OVER!
Tom and I were starting to worry that Troy might graduate from high school, still unable to roll over. However, today he made his big debut as a roller and I was actually here for it. I started cheering and he looked at me, like "what's the big deal, Mom?"

San Diego Zoo
I was in Claire's wedding this weekend in La Jolla, and on Saturday, when I was getting ready for the wedding, my parents and Tom went to the San Diego Zoo with Troy!
We always call Troy, "Monkey Toes" because he has these incredibly long toes that like to grip things. So, they had to get a picture in front of the Monkey Trails!

Vacation in San Diego
We stayed down at the Hyatt in Downtown San Diego. We had the most wonderful time. It was so nice to get away for a while.
Our hotel was right on the harbor, and it was easy to take the stroller and walk by the boats. Here, of course, you can see that Troy has suckered Tom into carrying him!
We toured the USS Midway. It was so interesting to see how the servicemen slept and ate. That ship is huge!
We decided to risk it and take Troy to Roy's with us in San Diego. He was so well-behaved! What a relief! Tom and I felt very encouraged that we can travel with the baby.

First Time in the Pool
As some of you remember from the shower, Tom's brother Bob, and sister-in-law, Alison, have the most beautiful pool in their backyard. They were kind enough to invite us over for Troy's first time in the pool.
After putting the 12 layers on needed to protect the pool from Troy, we got in the water. He never fussed or complained, and after a bit, seemed to really enjoy it!
Of course, the best part of the pool is the exhaustion afterwards! He fell right asleep after changing out of his bathing suit.

Fourth of July weekend
For the Fourth of July, we went to the Angels' game. They have the most terrific fireworks show, and Troy was such a good guy on this long, hot day. Tom, Crystal and Oma ran in the Huntington Beach 5K, which was a great time!
Alison and Bob invited us down on Sunday to hang out at their Balboa Beach house. It is so beautiful down there and we had a great time!
So cute!
Bob put Troy to sleep, just like MAGIC!!

Summertime at Disneyland
First ride on the Disneyland Train! Troy loved looking at all of the plants and (fake) animals.
Oma bought him his first Mickey outfit. Now, if we could only get him to smile for the camera!
After a few hours, Troy fell fast asleep. I guess we wore him out instead of the other way around for a change!

Father's Day at Disneyland
Papa, Troy and Tom mug for the camera at Disneyland. We thought it would be fun to celebrate Troy's first trip to the Happiest Place on Earth on Tom's first Father's Day.
Troy's first ride- Pirates of the Caribbean! Troy clutched Tom's shirt for the scary parts, but otherwise seemed to enjoy himself.
Tom, like I expected, is the most amazing father. He has infinite patience with Troy and it brings me incredible joy to watch the two of them together. Happy Father's Day, Tom.
